I'm sure there is another way but what I did what burn my songs onto a CD and then ripped them into Roxio Media Import through the Media Manager.

I don't think itunes allows you to make ringtones with protected music. Are these songs imported from a cd or bought from itunes?

There are song unprotecters for download on the internet. Just google free protected song converter.

...and you will end up with a pile of hits for "free download" -- which does not mean free.

Try a "-download" in the search string... or search for "freeware". It does not solve the problem but it cuts down what you have to sift through.

You can have a try with TuneClone from http://www.tuneclone.com . I use it for converting protected M4p to MP3 files and it works great!

I herad MelodyCan is a video to audio converter as well. It can extract audio from your favorite movies and video clips. If you are going to convert video to audio, just set either MP3 or AAC encoder for video files in MelodyCan settings.

You can also use Windows Media Encoder. It's free and easy to setup. Basically you setup the recorder to record "what you hear" then launch the song you want. It will then create a .wma file and this way your not really stripping off the copy protection. It's a bit time consuming, but once you get the hang of it, it is relatively easy to do.

You have to unlock the songs from itunes first. I am trying to find a free or cheap program to do this easily...

Can't do that until they are "unlocked" from iTunes format.
Color---it's nothing but a hue of the rainbow...why do people place such importance in it?
