Lightbulb How do I make BB users aware of our site?

    We have a site... www movy.tv that provides video/audio streaming to BB8800, 8300, 8700 and 8100
series, though we have had some trouble with the Pearl keypad and are working on that now.
In the 8800, 8300 we have enabled hardware playback. We will also shortly be enabling hardware playback for the Pearl handsets and will resolve Pearl playback issues. On the 8700 we are using our own java video decoder and framerates are slow..but does work.

In all cases, we are talking about streaming video.

    Sincerely,

The BB client really isn't the best. The GUI isn't that bad, but on my 8300 you can only get it to play once. Once it starts to stream a new video, streaming stops and I have to reboot my phone before I can get the program working again.

You have to download the movy.tv player from the How-to page.

The player has been upgraded. If you reinstall it and try it again you should have more success.
    -------
It should work on the 8820 now.

So far, just trying to get to the BB compatible version is difficult.

Re: How do I make BB users aware of our site?

    1. there was no option to choose the 8800, so I had to choose the 8300
    2. track ball doesn't select to choose to play video
    3. Video selected isn't the video that plays

Other than those three, I can't find a fault so far. I do like it. It works fine on my 8300 ATT.

Re: How do I make BB users aware of our site?

Yes I do. And switch that, there was no option for the 8300, so I chose the 8800.

And like I said, other than those three bugs, we are good.

Re: How do I make BB users aware of our site?

the 8300 and the 8800 series are using the embedded player and the same OS...
so for movy.tv streaming they are the same architecture. I did think we mentioned the 8800 series in the Options.

Right, the track ball gets you to the video and you have to used the Select key to select to play it. That probably explains why you're playing the wrong video.

I have always felt that we should make this clearer but other members of the Dev team say that Blackberry users always use the track ball and Select key in this way for other apps.
