Just wanted to give a large THANK YOU to CP who worked with me for hours last night in solving how to download certain ringtones to my new 8700BB.

FYI: If you're wanting to download theme songs from movies to your 8700BB, you can dl in either wav or mp3 (maybe others-I've successfully done these) formatted songs to your 8700. I have a new 8700c with Cingular as my provider.

First, you need to locate the songs on the web you want to download to your BB, and download them to your PC. If they are over 512k in size, you will need to use "sound recorder" or some similar program to edit the filesize to under 512k, the max file size that coolservice allows to be uploaded. After editing, you will need to upload your files of your songs to "coolservice". Again, thanks to CP, who suggested that I use sound recorder to edit the file size, it worked.

I was then able to upload the edited file to "coolservice" then, using my BB to access coolservice and download the songs into my BB and save them as selections in my ringtones. Now, I have the theme from "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly" Clint Eastwood movie as my default ringer and "My GirL' as the ringer when my "sweety" calls me. AWESOME....try it YOU'LL LIKE IT.

google search mobile17 and sign up. you can make custom wallpapers and ringtones from picture files and music files on your computer. Completely free and simple to use. I use it for my 8700g with not a single problem so far! Good luck!

Its not really the size of the song, its how it is downloaded to the BB. I have many songs that are above 800kb, those Ive loaded through my own webpage. Most will only load on the average 500kb at the most.
