I apologize if this is explained elswhere! I just got a pearl and I have no idea what i am doing. I am trying to create my own ringtones from my own music. I have saved it to my phone both in mp3 and wav format but everytime i try to play it, it says the media is of an unsupported format. Please help! Also, any other tips for this phone would be appreciated! Thanks!

Did you convert files w/Roxio so it is optimized for your device? Also, check software updates for DTM.

What software are you using on your pc to convert these mp3's? Perhaps they are being encoded with some special codecs that the phone doesnt like. You might try converting them to mp3's with a different application.

As for roxio, that is included free with the Desktop Manager Media edition. You can grab this from RIM's site.

Better try Audacity. It's totally free without any catch.
Or use this site, the only free (I mean catch-free) online editor for ringrones.
