I want to edit the chorus from a song I like and use it as my ringtone. What audio editing software is popular to do this and is compatible with my 8100? Thank you!

Audacity. Easy to use and free.

I've made dozens of great ringtones using this software.

I can't post the link here - PM me and I'll send you the link.

    Thanks azstar!

Also, Audacity can't edit MP3's out of the box, it needs what's called the LAME compression library first. Download lame_enc.dll and put it somewhere permanent on your hard drive. Then set your preferences in Audacity so that it knows where the dll is.

So with audacity can you actually edit the song or like cut it up like being able to take just the best or the voice or is it just like being able to take a section from a song? You can also use garage band from apple. That's what I use to take sections of songs for my ringtones.

Cellsea.com I believe allows you to upload an mp3s and allows you to take snippets of songs and you can send them directly to your bb

Use audacity. You don't need the LAME codec for importing MP3's but you need it for exporting them as MP3's. I use it a lot for my ringtones!

Audacity is the best free ringtone/song/MP3 editing/making program, it does A TON!!!

I use garage band to record my music, I export them in layers of MP3's, and I use Audacity to mix, cut and edit my songs..I also add effects and such, it's truly an amazing free program!!!!

    Wave Pad Sound Editor

I use Wave Pad Sound Editor. Google it and download. Simple and edit any song, any part of a song, paste different parts of songs together.
