Try this site: http://www.blackberrybooks.com/. The books are compatible with Mobipocket and provided through Project Gutenberg.

    http://manybooks.net//

They usually give a synopsis or exerpt of the book, users can leave reviews, and you can download in many different formats, including .mobi or .prc for MobiReader, as well as PDF format. They're copyright free/expired books, so there's mostly older stuff there, but some newer authors also choose to release their stuff there.

Doh! Just a typo on my part. It should be MobiPocket Reader or just MobiPocket.
