Do I need to have the Internet to work with Media Manager?

    First post, first question!:

I just bought my BlackBerry Pearl yesterday, and I haven't set up my Internet connection yet. I downloaded the CD and it's all loaded, however when I double-click the Media Manager icon, it says to connect my device with a USB, and I do have it connected, but the program isn't reading it.

This probably made zero sense, but I hope someone can help.. thanks, everyone!

in an answer to your post title, no you dont.

are you sure it is connected correctly to your computer? if so, uninstall the software and on the second time around, id let your os detect your device prior to installing the two apps just to be certain that the usb is functional and its not a hardware failure.

    hope that helps!

sometimes you just have to unplug it and replug it in or sometimes you just need to plug it in a different usb port all together. hope that helps
