Brand new to the Pearl. Loving it so far and this program is awsome! Super easy to use!
The only thing that happens about 50% of the time is that my windows media player on my desktop won't play the video. It says "error downloading codec" I wonder if someone may be able to tell me what codec it's talking about? Or how to go about fixing that problem. Thanks in advance.

The answer to this one is in the Blackberry Video Converter help file (s). Make sure you have the latest version of my program, 1.13.0.7 from my website.

You are going to need to install the correct codecs on your computer. It should ALWAYS say error, though...

Anyway, no need for graphical screen shots of the "black box" (Command Prompt/Shell window).

right click, mark, drag from top left corner to bottom right corner and press "enter"

Go to wherever you want it to appear, and press Ctrl-V (paste) -

Thanks for the response, I had forgot where I had asked the question, so sorry it took so long to get back to you.

I do have the latest version straight from your website. I have downloaded and installed the k-litemegacodepack. It still doesn't show video on my pc but when putting it on the Pearl the video shows up.

Here's the problem. The video doesn't play smooth. It doesn't even really play choppy It plays for about a second and then stops. Any info on what to check to make sure it can play straight through?

I need to know what kind of video it is. Please use gspot codec appliance to figure that information out.

Please try some other videos, if you correctly installed k-lite you will be able to see the videos encoded for the Blackberry on your computer. You may need to restart, but you should not have to. That video you are trying to use may be corrupt or encrypted. Let me know what you figure out.

I downloaded the 1.13 Beta version and tried to convert a DVD of Frasier episodes. It ran for a while and then I got the following error and a memory exception that crashed the program ...

That DVD has a variable framerate. My program handles 99% of the variable framerates that are out there, but this one might be too much of a jump to encode or your computer might be underpowered for the task. Try encoding it again and make sure you have unnecessary programs off when you do it to make sure you are giving mencoder full use of your machine.

Shut everything down and I still get the error. Oh well, my Thinkpad may not have the necessary horsepower or the DVD is being difficult. I won't every sit down and watch a full length movie on my Pearl, but I would like to watch a 1/2 hour episode of some of the Frasier seasons that I own. Bummer .
