How and where do i go to unlock my bb im on nextel and wonder if its safe

It is safe to unlock your BlackBerry. Just contact Nextel's BlackBerry support and ask them for the unlock code for your phone. I don't know how long you have to be an active customer in good standing (no late bills, etc).

I also know that you can get it if you email them your device type, phone number, last 4 numbers of your SS#, account holder's name and something else (I forgot what it was), they will send it to you. At least that's what T-Mobile does.

Probably not helpful but an unlocked 7520 could theoretically work on the telus network in Canada.

yea telus i think is only network that a nextel blackberry phone can be unlocked for.

No go, Telus has a firm and strict policy of no foreign PIN, ESN or IMEI on their network.
