    BB 7510 - Surgical Operation

I have a BB 7510, and I wonder if somehow the RF module (if something like that exists and is detachable) could be replaced with another that works with GSM frequency ranges (900 Mhz, 1800 Mhz, 1900 Mhz) ?
I don't know if this thing is possible, but i really don't have what to do with my BB 7510 working on NEXTEL iDEN network , so I want to try everything that's possible to make it work on other networks.

Do you guys know something about this ?

    eipya, Welcome to PinStack.

No, what you are asking is not possible. And what is so good about your 7510, which is extremely limited in memory, makes it even worth while to ask this question. Best bet, if you want to get off the Nextel IDEN network would be to buy at least a 7290, but I would go with a 8700 or 8800 if I were you and wanted to stay with a qwerty model.

Let us know if there is anything else we can do to help with this problem or your BB.

A note on that... I'm very pleased with the 7290... an older model but still it rocks and works great, I've had no probs! (Knock on wood!)

    BB 7510 - Surgical Operation

    Thanks a lot !

I thought the "Surgical Operation" couldn't be done, but I nevertheles had hope (anyway, it's the last that dies). But now I know for sure. I can bury my BB, without getting it to a "surgeon". Or maybe, if I think twice, I could use it as a platform for developing little JAVA applications. Yeah, that's what i'm gonna do.
And of course, I had been thinking of buying a 8700 or 8800 model; in the meantime i'll surely play with my 7510 JAVA programing capacities.

Thanks again, you're messages have been of great help
