Address Book Edit & Save Dilemma (Blackberry 7250)

    Can Anyone Help,

I’m having a little problem with my Blackberr-7250…

In my address book, whenever I try to “edit” a contact’s
information and save it, it will not save, and as it closes
    it posts this message:

    “Address Updated Externally.
Changes Will Be Lost And The Viewer Closed”

What’s going on, how do I rectify this problem???

Ok this is a typical BES problem that i've seen before. Therfore, make sure you don't have the 'Blackberry Enterprise' version of the desktop software installed on your PC. Sounds like you do. Go to add and remove programs, remove the blackberry desktop software and reinstall. When the wizard asks... select 'Web Client' install.

If that dosn't work go the the RIM software forum of this site and choose the download link for your carrier and update or reload the handheld software on your device. Make sure you back up and do not include any 3rd party software till after re-sync. then test again.

Or click search above for Blackberry 4.0 to find the destop software thread by carrier.

    Let me know and goodmorning.

I have a bold 9000 AT &T does the same thing but only on a few contacts. Also those contacts on the device do not sync to the Mac. I sure hate to wipe the device as I've done that once and of course it's a major hassle. Any other way to accomplish this? thanks! Cstmbuilder
