Should a PocketMac sync take 30 minutes?

PocketMac seems to work ok (Missing Sync won't sync my calendar). My main problem is that PocketMac takes a half hour to complete. Since Missing Sync is closer to 3 minutes is something wrong with my PocketMac sync? Thanks

Noooooooooo.. shouldn't take that long at all... if mine goes 2 minutes it seems excessive...

Go through the settings and make sure you're only synching w/ the apps you actually have.. Something seems a tad screwy!

Nope, I only sync with what I have. And, it is 10-15 minutes each on Address Book and iCal. The rest of them go quickly. I have it set to "sync all categories" and "two way sync" Any other thoughts?

    Hmmm.. There's a few things I'd try...

    1) Remove/re-install PocketMac (Do you have the latest version 1.0.9?)
    2) Hard Reset the pearl
    3) Try another USB Cable/USB Port (long shot considering you said it worked w/ Missing Sync)

Run Activity Monitor when you do the sync - see if there's anything else running that might be conflicting with it...

Like mentioned above, check and make sure you are synching with only applications you use on your mac.

We had a client whose pocketmac took 50 minutes and we found out he was synching with every single option in the pocketmac program.

All I have checked are Contacts, Calendar and the USB Connection. It is in the Contacts and Calendar that the bulk of the time is devoted. Any other thoughts?

And also, what is the difference between the PocketMac SyncManager 1.0.9, which I am using and 4.0.20, which is on the PocketMac site?

I have removed, installed Missing Sync, removed Missing Sync, reinstalled PocketMac a number of times all with the same results. Do you know how I can set "Mass Storage Mode" to prompt? I am following someone else's instructions.

Re: Should a PocketMac sync take 30 minutes?

I have heard of this happening once before. In that case it was due to the over 400 categories in various calendar programs and 1500 contacts set for 2 way sync. How many calendars and contacts do you have?

Re: Should a PocketMac sync take 30 minutes?

I have 11 calendar categories and 777 addresses. Nothing else has ever taken any special time to process this. I had a Palm Treo before and it was under 2 minutes with the same complexity.
