So, today I popped down to my nearest Apple Retail store. I walked out with this baby:

My first venture into Apple, I'm loving the hell out of it, it is a sweet computer.

Cherrichiodo - This isn't to replace my PC at all. I've just wanted one for a while because I've been on a graphic/multimedia/design kick lately.

VR - The keyboard has a very crisp response to it, it is a breeze to knock out an easy 65wpm on it.

Still finding new things out about this, it continues to wow me!

Congrats!!! I want a Mac now. I used Macs back in 91 when I was going to University and it was a lot easier to operate than the PC's. I am migrating to one next year as I do a lot of photography and you cant beat the Macs when it comes to graphics. That screen looks huge next to the cat.

Very nice, congrats on your new Mac. How is the new trackpad without "buttons"? My next computer purchase will be a Mac, I have been considering that for a while, I am still wondering about getting a MacBook or IMac, still time to figure that out. Keep us advised about your transition from PC to Mac, that interests me.

The buttonless trackpad, believe it or not, is a total dream. The removal of the button gives a larger amount of tracking space, however... the boys at Apple made it a very intuitive design.

My main concern with the technology was drag and dropping. They have made it flawless in this aspect, because the trackpad monitors which finger initiated the button click, and while you are dragging, no matter where the finger holding the button goes, it won't change the position of the item you are clicking.

So if I'm holding an icon with my thumb on the button and using my inde to move it, the icon will only go where my index finger goes. Pretty nifty.

Since the entire mousepad is a clickable button anywhere will do. However, I feel using my single index in the center of the pad requires a little more effort, so I still use my thumb to click the bottom of the pad.
