Making The Switch From Windows To Mac

What do I need to download (free) to backup/restore/synch/update and add stuff to my 8120? Thanks. Also, if it's too complicated, I will purchase a small netbook for that purpose alone.

You can use PocketMac or Missing Sync. And to just add stuff like pictures and videos, you can just turn on Mass Storage Mode and copy & paste items rather than going through the software listed above.

I hate to write this but I would go ahead and purchase the cheap Netbook and use the DM from that. The Mac does not play well with the Blackberry.

There is no DM and what is available or in part listed above only does certain things. There is no one software package that does it all. You will become frustrated.

Actually that is one of the reasons I retired my bold and went back to the iPhone.

You can only Backup/restore/upgrade from a Windows platform.

Actually scratch all that....... Use Bootcamp and install Windows on your new Mac or consider using Parallels to run Windows from. That is what i ended up doing. That seems to work great.

Enjoy the new Mac, you will love it.

I decided to stick with windows for now. Maybe I will get one later when the Mac platform supports BlackBerry more.

There is no substitute for RIM's Windows application yet. I've tried Pocketmac and Missing Sync and both suck and don't even do a backup. What you can do is to run windows under the OSX with Parallers or use BootCamp - this will be cheaper than buying a netbook just for the Blackberry...

There will never be a day where a cell phone will dictate my choice of computer or platform. My house is more important than the cloths that hang in the closets.
