I'd take a look at VisualHub you'll have to google it I can't post urls yet as this is my first post! But VisualHub is a very nice video converter, not that pricey either.

I use handbrake into compressor (comes with final cut pro). Imovie can also do it but is a bit slower and I think toast can do it to. Convert to the correct screen size with the 3gp format.

Did you write it? Would you be willing to share the automator script? If not I'll just write my own, but I'd rather save myself the effort if I can =).

I use DVD Ripper for Mac http://www.mp4converter.net/ and have finally come up with a custom profile which works 100% on the Pearl. If anyone uses this proggy and wants the profile, let me know.

Handbrake and visual hub are the best but Hawkeye does a great job on converting dvds.

iSquint is also very good - just a simple drop and convert app.

4Media Video Converter for Mac works perfectly for almost all popular video players like BlackBerry, iPod, iPod touch, Apple TV, PSP, PS3, Zune, mobile phone, Archos, iRiver and Creative Zen etc.

Hi: I use the same program w/ an iPod video. Your feedback on the settings/profile best adapted for using the program with the Pearl would be appreciated. Thanks!
