Looks cool, probably safe as long as you don't take the dare and put your tongue to it, looking forward to this or a similar product.

as far as dangerous, it wouldn't be much worse than holding your phone up to your head...

it's the same concept as contactless smartcards and RFID tags... the corded pad produces an EM field that can be converted back into electricity through induction....

physical contact with the pad would not be dangerous, however the EM exposure has potential to be more harmful than most wireless devices, and may have some negative impact on your phones signal reception.

also, the device being charged will need to have an induction loop attached to the outside of it or installed within.

cool tech concept, but it's been very slow getting off the ground.

Fantastic - there is a God! As for safety, I wouldn't go using it in the shower!

    Lightbulb wireless charging

Hi everyone, I agree, this wireless charging thing is creating waves all over the IT field. We never use to feel such a buzz about anything. This wireless concept is really awesome. Recently I read some articles explaining the process of this charging.
It was using some concept of witricity, this concept came into existence by the hard work done by the researchers of MIT. This is a non-radioactive way to pass the charge to a distance. It doesn’t involve any media for the transfer; for now it is limited but the way the technology is progressing I think soon we will be able to experience them. For now what excites me is wireless laptop charger, I am in desperate need of this (just remove this messy wires).

Thank God for wireless charging. Since I was injuried at work 6 years ago I now have a spinal cord stimulator implanted in me and I'm not sure how it would work without wireless charging.
As for phones I think the idea is okay but they need to have it built into the phone to really work well. Having these outside adapters is not pretty. If they would come up with a standard and build it into all phones I think it would be a great idea
