    Wincomm BT for the 7520

My pc is running the xp S2 pack, and I can't find the windows BT installed. As I loaded up the Wincomm software, it reads my phone with no problem and as well as my BT headset.

My inquirey is, HOW DO YOU ENABLE the blue tooth setting in the desktop manager? Is their a setting in the Wincomm i need to click? Is Rimm's Desktop software just not compadable??

If anyone has a BlueTooth device and got it to work, I sure would love to know how you got it to work.

I have a Kensington USB bluetooth adapator, the Rimm 7520 Blackberry, and I have the Desktop 4.1 + software installed.

Maybe i just need a good stept by stept instructions to get me their.

Any help provided would be great.
    THANKS in Advance!

I have followed those instructions. Once again, I am using a dongle. It's seems I can't get Xp to find the hardware (drivers) in the default drivers. Maybe you can tell me how to get the ZP bt drivers to load and the Xp manager to run?

    Thanks again

Ok the Wincomm is reading the bluetooth, but I still can't click the "Enable Bluetooth" on the Desktop software. My Motorolla headset is working thru the computer, why can I get the Bb to work?

I've done everything I can think of including this:

Here is what I have done after reading that Microsoft article that N8 posted:

    1) Open Control Panel
    2) Clck on Bluetooth Devices
    3) Options, Discovery
    4) Turn Discovery on

After attempting to have my PC find my BB, I get this: An error occurred while Windows was saving your settings. The following settings were not saved: Dscoverability Settings Connection Settings

have you uninstall any bt software but XP? Also, I would take out the bt radio / devices in the manager, and goto WindowsUpdate, and see if XP sp2 updates. The problem lies with this all is in the Sp2 from what i gather in some of the other post i have read on the internet.

Renaming the INF files to ini.old might force updated drivers for XP bt

Ok, update on the Bluetooht for all of us XP sp2. 1st of all i want to kill this thread and post a new one. "Before you buy a Bluetooth donggle".

I tried everything possible known on the internet, Tech support, and the final resolution is

YOU CAN NOT GET A BLUETOOTH DONGLE TO WORK CORECTLY WITH A NON_LISTED DONGLE!!!

IT IS IMPOSSIBE--- Unless Rim does a work around. Belive me- nothing you can do to get the full functions out of BT on PC and a USB dongle.

Here is that ...93 link w/o the ... that seems to mess it up. The process looks very promising.

Just add the http colon slash slash in front of these two links. I can't post a URL yet.
