Opinions on a case or skin for the storm.

I've been holding off on posting this just because there were other threads about the cases and or skins people use for their phone. Well, I read them all and did not find anything to help with my decision.

Can you guys tell me what you are using, and post a link so I can see it and purchase it (if decide to). Also, what you don't like about it and what you do like about it. I dontr want to spend more then 50.00 on this. and i want to buy it before the weekend is over. So post away

I just using the leather case & screen protectors - sold at my local Verizon store.

Give us an idea on what you are wanting...what type of enviroment will your BB be in (indoor office, outdoor construction, stay at home dad, etc...)

I'm an indoor office kinda guy during the week & outdoors-man on the weekend - my BB outfit works out great for both.

My tech is about to grab an OtterBox when they come in to our shop. They retail for about $50 and are true protection. They do add thickness to the phone but are worth it. I am planning on putting one on my Curve when I have a spare I can afford to grab. (Customers always come first )

I got my Storm Treads at the Verizon store for 20.00 and as of now I have the factory screen protector, but I'm about to get a BSE (best skins ever) for it.

Otterbox - I just got the otterbox for the storm and I have to say AWESOME COVERAGE!!...Really, this case covers EVERYTHING.....

The only thing I don't like about it...and maybe it is just ME, because of my big fingers, but I can't seem to hit (i.e. it wont lite up when I touch it, when typing) the A key, 123 key, backspace, enter, etc all when in landscape mode....it gets better when I have it in full keyboard portrait but no that much better

ONLY 1 design flaw....access to the battery....,not there fault, my only issue is that since running 109 hybrid, I get some problems where I have to remove the battery...and let me tell you...i find my self cussing in public under my breathe getting the darn thing on and off 2-3 times a day...

AND the other issue I have been having with the otterbox for the storm is that of COMMUNICATION....I guess the engineers or whoever at otterbox didn't realize that the storm had a voice muffle problem....So the fact that there is close to 1/2 inch of hard plastic and siicone rubber (combined) over the mouth piece it really *screws* up your voice.....

I think these white pieces of paper that cover the earhole, etc. are really too much, because even with JUST a LITTLE bit of background noise, you really can't here a word someone is saying, nevermind in a quiet setting...

So all in all: Issues - worsened voice muffling, as well as sound blocker....and some button pushng issues (mainly my big fingers I think)

BUT otherwise, the otterbox defender series for the storm is AMAZING none the less...

    ----------------

Silicone Case - This is a great case, but, just not good enough for daily 'rough' use. I took it to work with me before I got the otterbox and I found myself struggling to get it in and out of my pocket pants (I do part time commercial construction work)

So it is good for around the house, playful settings,. where you really do not need to put it in your pocket...bag(ladies) or wherever is good...

    ---------------------------------

Leather Case - This case is bar none, GREAT, I am using the case from my previous 8830, and it is great! No issues EVER, its a LITTLE (very little) loose, but I like it because its easier to take out.

    -----------------------

    The Round UP (I suppose)

OtterBox -- GREAT for work (protection) not so great for communication, or heavy texting...

Silicone Case -- NOT so GREAT for work (protection), but GREAT for communication and such (still some worsened voice muffle)

Leather Case (pouch clip) -- AMAZING all round... really only good when in an office environment or meeting etc....basically white collar *professional* environments...

    Hope this helps some.....

I have a BSE on my old Pearl, both old Curve's and my Ipod. It's pretty easy to put them on, you just need to be patient and read the instructions, and take the battery out BEFORE doing it

I have used the BSE on 5 different devices now. To be quite honest the one for the storm was up there on the more difficult side to put on. The only issue was with the long skinny pieces that cover the sides where the volume keys and the USB port. Just a little tricky to keep straight and line up perfectly. Once its on, with patience, its FANTASTIC!!

I have used the BB siliocn skin and am not a really big fan. I have noticed it collects a lot of dirt inbetween the device and the instide the skin.

    Hope that helps a bit.

Chad, does your BSE give you some orange peel kind of thing? I use BSE screen protector only on all mine. They work great! Since the Storm comes with stock screen protector, I wont replace it until it goes bad.

The orange peel "effect" is there a little bit. As anything that adheres like that. However on the screen itself i do not notice any screen distortion or anything like that. It is virtually invisible if you are tilting your device while looking at it in sharp light you can see the orange peel. Other than that. It's fantastic.

I'm using a Seidio Innocase II, and an OEM Bold leather holster. The combination works very well together in my opinion.

I was using the Silicone case, but it sticks to everything. Turned all my pockets inside out, which is why I originally bought the Bold's holster, but that became a tug of war to get it out of the case, I actually missed a few phone calls because of it.

The innocase II provides some protection, almost no bulk, a little bit of grip for stability while typing, and yet it slides in an out of a Bold holster with ease.
