Thumbs up OEM Leather Pocket : 8800 Series : 8300 Series

I get a lot of questions from Curve users wanting to know if they can use their Skinned Curve with the BlackBerry Leather Pocket. Though hard as we try to put it in, it just doesn't work because it's too tight. Until now....

Meet the OEM BlackBerry Leather Pocket for the 8800 Series. I know it is for that device but you know me, I will always find ways to make things work for me.

OEM BlackBerry Leather Pocket. No Clip. Dark Brown.
    Model #HDW-13149-001

Photo above shows the 8800 Series Leather Pocket (left) and 8300 Series Leather Pocket (right).

I thought this Leather Pocket is Black at first glance, but I remember I ordered a Brown one. With natural light, it does indeed look Brown. Dark Brown to be exactly. Pretty classy if I might add. Now the best thing about sporting this with my Skinned Curve? I can now activate my sleeper function!

I'm not familiar with their cases, but I tested it with my SeeThru Hardcase. It fits but quite snuggly. With leather, might need to break it in a little, since the leather is brand new. I'll give you an update in the next few days.

The Blackberry OEM pocket that I got for my Curve from Blackberry.com was vinyl, not leather. It also left black skid-like marks on my curve, but thankfully I had Best Skins Ever on it. Where did you find a leather pocket?

Thanks chinesecat. How thick are your seethrough cases? About 1mm?

Oops sorry for the double post.

Hope you don't mind me jumping in CC, but yeah it does work. Nice thing about the media 8 series is similar construction to where magnet will put phone into sleeper mode (within a few mm's). I've done a little mix and match since I got momdukes the gold 8320 and a rubberized case. She has a purse so she tried using the oem sleeve the 8320 came with, but it was quite a tight fit and missed a few calls while trying to fight it out of the sleeve. The only way it would go into proper sleep mode was an extra hard shove into the case and then it became very difficult to take out. The 8800 sleeve ended up being a great fit and gave sleeper function.

In regards to using this Leather Pocket with my Hard Case, after stretching it a little bit with the help of a shampoo bottle , I was able to stretch this to a perfect fit. My BB slips right in and out easily.
