The card is gaining in interest after the launch of the CDMA version of the HTC Touch on both Sprint, and now Verizon Wireless (as the XV6900). Both devices are flagship Windows Mobile phones, but lack Wi-Fi.
Spectec originally announced the device for sale last August (and has demoed it dating back to 2006), and initially intended to ship it before 2008. However, Spectec encountered both “marketing strategy and some technical issues” which prevented its launch. Spectec now expects to complete the SDW-823 in May, submit it for regulatory approval through June, and launch the device in July.
