Depends on what version DT Manager you are running? What version is it?
Does anyone knows the fix for this erro when you open the desktop manager ?
Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Program: ...ogram Files\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\DesktopMgr.exe
abnormal program termination
he is using the BlackBerry Desktop Manager, version 3.6
I am using version 4.1 and have the exact same problem when trying to sync my calander from outlook. Any ideas how to fix the problem ? Thanks!
the user with the problem is using lotus notes. I know how to troubleshoot notes but I have no idea what to do.
I set the DM not to synch with the calendar but I still get the same error
when the intellisync process crashes look at the tif.log scroll to the bottem and there is your answer.
Delete the entry.
I bet it has an attachment added to it..
I found this on another message board and cant make much sense out of it. I looked at the log file and deleted the enrties in my outlook calander where it hung up, but it still doesnt work. It goes through about 60 entries and always crashes at the same place. Anyone have any ideas? Im completely out and calanderless!
I solved the issue. I think for now ...Im going to check with the user tomorrow to see if it happened again.
It seemed to be an issue with the calendar and address book.
I set the desktop manager to synch only with the Address book: got error message
I set the desktop manager to synch only with the Calendar: got error message
I set the desktop manager to synch only with the Tasks: NO error message
So it was surely a problem with those 2.
So I went to the backup and restore options --> Advanced
I cleared out all Calendar, Address Book and Service Book entries so they could all be gone from the Blackberry
After this I set the desktop manager to IMPORT one by one the calendar, the address book entries.
After this I did a synched and no error message was there showing up
User with the problem uses lotus notes. I guess from this you guys can get some ideas...
Hope this helps !!
I tried these steps. It worked for the addresses; however, it still gives me this error message when I import the calendar. Any suggestions? This is my boss's phone that I have just cleared all of her information. Can you hear the desperation and fear?

When the calendar sync does this, it is usually related to an event with an attachment or a recurring event with no end date. Have you looked in the log to see if you can tell what event is causing the problem?
Let us know if there is anything else we can do to help with this problem or your BB.
Had the same problem with my address book. Suggestion worked as advertised. Wish I had know about this forum months ago!
after looking through the log i can't seem to find the error. any other suggestions? i and still receiving the same Runtime Error.
I found that it was not a attachments in my calendar causing this issue. I had a archived folder in my calendar function. So I had the outlook calendar and an archived folder. After deleting all my events in the calendar I deleted the archive folder. This work and I was able to add no issue (I did lose all my old appointments though) ggod luck
I have exactly the same problem any suggestions? (184.108.40.206Originally Posted by allan16
I just encountered this problem with my calendar. I tried viewing the log but the last entry read 'untitled'. Through process of elimination (I started deleting calendar entries in reverse order of when I had added them) I determined my 'bad apple' was a calendar invite generated by Live Meeting. It was not recurring and did not include attachments. Weird but who cares. It works now!
BTW - I second the other user who mentioned how they wished they had found this board earlier. I have been a BB user for 6+ years and always struggle when the delicate balance of the sync gets out of whack. Thanks for the info
Try disabling DEP for the Desktop Manager.
