    problem installing apps?

I'm trying to install trial software on my Pearl. I'm using Desktop manager and the application uploader. I've extracted the zip files and when I use uploader and click add, I select the alx file, but when I click open it says this "no additional applications for your device were found" ??? huh ? Why won't it add it?

You will most likely need to install the same device operating system as you have on your blackberry to your desktop to correct this. In my blog you will find links to lists of carrier websites for downloading, and you can check your OS under OPTIONS- ABOUT, 3rd line down....

yes, its for my device. I'm getting them from handango, and my Pearl is listed as supported device.

Why do I need to put the OS on my computer?

It helps weed out load problems, It also is a good thing to have incase of a device crash, My Pearl crashed one day out of the blue, nothing but a blinking red LED, so i was glad to have the latest OS already. It been running fine ever since. and is almost 2 years old now.

    Fish,

Over The Air (OTA ) install would be your best bet.

Here is an entire thread on this subject you may want to look over....

Yes, I know about OTA. But, I don't believe the apps I want to try are available OTA.

I tried help in DM and says my error means that software isn't supported. As previously stated here. But, why does it say my device is supported on app info, but not working on my side?

THt would be a good question for the Program vendor, if you have to pay for it and it says your phone is supported then it should work. Either that or they owe you money back, IMO.

No, he means you need a version of desktop manager that is the same as or later than the OS on your BB.

Let us know how it turns out. In the long run you will be happy that you have access to your OS with the applicaiton loader.
