    PIN/Blackberry Messenger Problem

Using the desktop connection software I loaded my new 8800 on my companies BES. My company does not allow PIN messaging so when I did this these features were disabled. I was really just playing with the software and the 8800. I then removed my 8800 personal phone from the corporate server and reconnected my 8700 business phone.

The problem is that even after removing my 8800 from the server I still cannot send PIN messages and I cant even see the bberry messenger icon on my phone anymore. Anyone know how I can restore these features? Will I need to go to my IT dept to correct the problem?

I tried working with Cingular on the issue but their frontline people dont have a clue and after about an hour of bouncing around and not getting anywhere I hung up. Any ideas?

I think you might have a policy installed preventing you from doing so, have IT send you a black it policy and you should be good to go..

Have you logged into the BIS account and recent the service books?

Okay, figured out how to update service books and did so. This did not correct the problem. Any other ideas?

You will have to do this as stated. That's what's preventing you from using BlackBerry Messenger.

Blaze, I had the same problem that happened to me when I first got my 8700 a year ago and the IT dept didn't know what to do to get me cleared, so that I could download third party apps. I ended up having to exchange my handset. Every time I talked to someone in the IT dept, they made it seem as if I was already removed and everything was fixed. I went back and forth with them for 2 weeks.

You might be ale to take it back to the store. It is within the 30 days.

Just a thought if your IT dept can't get it fixed.

I followed your instructions but unfortunately it did not work. Does anyone know of a Cingular ADVANCED tech support number that would be willing to open a dialogue with Blackberry in regards to this issue. I'm sure a call to bberry would help resolve the issue asap. Just a matter of getting the right Cingular Rep on the phone. Unfortunately their frontline people are not as knowledgable about these things.

I retract my previous statement, it is now working! It just took a few minutes to update.
