Outlook and Business Contact manager Synchronization Issue

Hello Everyone. I have a question and I’ve searched for a solid answer.

The problem I am having is this I’ve recently upgraded my Ms Outlook 2003 with “Business Contact Manager” the problem I’m having is this intellisync only recognizes the “Contacts” in my Personal folder and NOT the ones listed under the “Business Contacts in Business Contact Manager” folder and I don’t see a way to add or map that folder. Someone Please help.

Also this is not just an issue with the “category” in which I sort by if you have or have seen the upgrade these contacts are listed totally separate from your personal contacts

Re: Outlook and Business Contact manager Synchronization Issue

I haven't used this Outlook Application either, but I have read that intellisync will not work with it. As a matter of fact, I haven't heard anything in a couple of months but several months ago, it was causing sync failures when installed.

Intellisinc only recognizes certain extensions. For outlook it only recoginzes pst files as Outlook. What is the extension that the Business Contact Manager saves it's contacts in?

    Hope this helps

Re: Outlook and Business Contact manager Synchronization Issue

Thanks for the responses guys. The extension is the same as regular “Outlook Contacts” so far I haven’t had any issues with synchronization at all.

The problem is this the contacts saved under “Business Contacts” is in a ummm separate data base and when using intellisync it will only allow synchronization from 1database.

I want to keep these “Business Contacts” separate from my standard Contacts since I use the Business contact manager to note issues concerns and other information for sales reports. I really hate the thought of having to carry something in addition to my blackberry just for contacts.

If anybody can help please do.

As a side point is there another “Desktop Manager” that will sync with the Blackberry and may allow or pick up information from 2 separate databases???

Did anyone find a solution to this? Does Blackberry sync with Outlook 2003 Business Contact Manager?
    Advice appreciated.

    jcoleman, Welcome to PinStack.

I don't think the two are compatible, but I'm not sure. If they are someone will tell us how to do it. Let us know if there is anything else we can do to help with your BB.

I purchased an 8703 as well and very disappointed that I can't sync "Accounts" and "Contacts" from BCM (Business Contact Manager". Microsoft will work with and support pocket pc but I've been there. I enjoy the fact that the Blackberry is not Microsoft.
I wonder if this could be done somehow through database sharing? (an option w/ BCM)

    Any help?

    Bottcherdude, Welcome to PinStack.

I'm sure that this is a problem of not being able to handle two separate files at the same time, let alone two separate file types. Let us know if there is anything else we can do to help with your BB.

But I believe they are the same file types; pst.
    Leave it to Microsoft....

Yeah, I've had two customers call with issues with Business Contact manager not synching.

    And I found this:

    http://www.blackberry.com/knowledgec...+2003&vernum=7

    which includes:

    Note:
The Business Contact Manager feature of Outlook 2003, which is a personal information management (PIM) add-on, is not supported by BlackBerry Desktop Software.

    That is interesting.
If someone has a spare device try adding the "Business Contacts" as a secondary DB to sync. See if the desktop manager even sees it. To set this up try and map it as you would a public folder contact DB or a secondary outlook contact DB.
