    Hi all,

    I just can't get my laptop to detect my 8707g!
    I tried following the intructions at "https://support.t-mobile.com/knowbase/root/public/tm22790.htm" but it kept saying 'device not found' after step 3.

    Does it matter if I use a generic USB cable to connect my bb to the laptop?
    I'm running vista by the way.

    Please drop me a line of advise if you could, thanks a lot!

    I am not running Vista nor do I have your device but i can tell you that so far it does not matter which cable I use.

    I have used the cable from my camera and the no brand cable I bought at Altex for my old Razor. They all work fine.

    With that said you if you do not have a way to test that cable on another device you might want to try another one.

    What version of Desktop Manager are you using?

    With Vista, you need to run either:
    4.2 Service Pack 2
    Or
    4.3

    I was running on 4.1. Could that be the reason why?
    Does it matter which desktop manager I download if the apps in my bb are all 4.1?
