ok, i donloaded the new 4.3 desktop. the when i plugged in my 8130, it asked me for a pin 10 times! i put in the same numbers in all 10. then it said somehting about WIPING! then there was a status bar on my blackberry and it said "wiping" above it.. now its WIPED! WTH? no contects, nothing! factory reset basically. How can I get all this back ? i can still log on in uscellular.blackberry.com and my email addresses are still there, but the folders are missing from the APP menu.. they appeared automatically when i set up the emails.. how do i RESTORE This.. I NEVER backed this up!

To get your emails working again all you need to do is go to the uscellular web page and resend your service books. Unfortunately if you have no back ups the rest of your data is most likely gone. If you use outlook you can sync to get your contacts and calendar back....

it was asking for your password. if you don't get it correct you have just wiped your phone done to ram, you will have to download the os for the phone. sorry to hear about this, hope you had it backed up another place..

Actually only your data bases are gone, your operating system is still intact.

To get your sms and mms folder, go into messages, menu, options, general, scroll down and change sms and email inboxes to "Seperate"

What else appears to be missing?

YOU THE MAN! Can you get my contacts back ? LOL - I'm pretty sure I have it backed up at home.

Your missed calls (call logs) will be in your back up.

To avoid logging calls to your messages folder try this: Open the phone app, hit menu, options, call logging - set to "none"

Go back to that us cellular link, but don't download the Desktop one, download and install the one that says handheld and your device model number. You need to have both the Desktop and Handheld software on your PC in order to load themes and stuff with the application loader.

Just download and run the Handheld OS and then give it another try.
