| Need advice re: desktop SW- getting new laptop
Folks, I have upgraded the OS (to Telstra) and the Themes (adding Vodafone Today. Since I am getting a new laptop computer tomorrow, can I do anything to preserve the OS and Themes on the 8700 or will these get knocked out when I install Desktop SW on my new laptop?

If you copy your themes, your latest Backup and the OS Download files to the new PC, once you install the Desktop Manager on your new PC, run the OS download on the new PC and the next time you need to run the App loader, you will need to add the themes. Hope this helps Rcbjr. |

Thanks. I needed to know this too. Can't you also use Backup/Restore and back everything up from the BB to the new PC? That's what I thought about doing.

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~try copying bb folder which you make. Then place all bb files in it. Either burn it or zip and email to say a non bb email acct. Like yakoo,msn or isp then unzip on new computer instal telestra os. Driving now sorry can't get into m$ore details. This should worlk

Thanks for the follow up folks. My company's technical support team is going to give me a new "image" of our enterprise SW, so I cannot really do a simple disk copy. It is a bit puzzlesome that you cannot back up from the device and restore...

My external CD drive which I got with my current laptop is no longer working so it looks like making a zip file and emailing it will be my only option.
