I have Outlook on the laptop populated with the same partial Calendar data that made it to the 8700 in the first place, the original problem.

Oh sorry about referring to you as "he", how presumptuous of me =)

Palm Desktop will ONLY export Calendar data as a .dba file (AKA
Calendar Archive or Date Book Archive).

Contacts can be exported as a .csv file.

Right now I'm on Linux, so I can't open the BB DM to verify this, but I believe the BB can import .dba files as well.

I think that .dba is one of the formats supported by the ASCII importer/exporter. Unfortunately (in this case, at least) I don't have a Windows machine to check with. I use Linux exclusively and borrow time on a friend's computer if I need to update the OS on my pearl

Off the top of my head, if you to into the DM and open up the sync dialogue, you can edit the type of sync - e.g. change it from Outlook to ASCII or Lotus, etc. Under the ASCII heading, it will tell you which files it supports, and I believe .dba is one of them. I know I've seen .dba in a list of sync formats.

Just a note: the ASCII importer/exporter does't synchronise, it just imports and exports.
