| Lost my Blackberry desktop manager CD.
i lost the CD, and now i cant transfer anything to my phone from my computer, i tried downloading the software from the site, but it says an error keeps occurring... |

Have you used that computer to transfer information before? If so, you don't need the CD if the DM is already installed. If not, what version of Desktop Manager are you trying to download? Do you have administrative rights on the computer? What phone & operating system are you running on your Blackberry? What is the error you are getting? |

im trying to download the 4.2 software cause i have a blackberry pearl 8100 4.2...

You don't need 4.2. The desktop manager software version does not coincide with the Blackberry Operating System. Download 4.5 and see if that works for you. Make sure you uninstall any previous versions first, then do a restart of the computer, then install DM 4.5.

okay, i opened up the media manager and its all grey....i went to help and it says " Open blackberry desktop manager" okay..i already did...." Click on media manager " I DONT SEE IT!!!!!

Did you download a version with the media manager? The downloads have versions with and without it.

Have you tried restarting your computer?

if this is really vista and not a theme part http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windo...tibility-mode/ try doing that after u do the restart if it still does not work and see if it works k "C:\Program Files\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\DesktopMgr.exe" thats the path u need to go to do that |

This is beginning to happen to me quite a bit. I have to close out of, and restart, DM in order for it to start up correctly. It does take a few minutes but it will eventually work. I thought I was the only one who had this problem (on top of device problems LOL).
