How can I back up my Blackberry on a Mac?

    Hey guys,

I recently switched over from PC to a new iMac, and haven't updated my Blackberry since. I tried finding a Mac version of the Desktop Manager software today, and could only find the Pocket PC Sync software... which doesn't appear to serve the same function.

Is there not a Mac version of the Desktop Manager software? Is there any way to create a back up log of my Blackberry on my iMac or is that only possible on a PC?

    Thanks!

Thanks, but no that thread doesn't help... I'm not looking to sync my Blackberry with my Mac, which I'm pretty sure is all the PocketMac application does...

I'm looking to periodically back up my Blackberry handset (contacts, messages, settings, etc.) like I used to on my old PC so that if I ever need to replace my handset, or upgrade to a newer one, I can restore or transfer all of my information to the new handset.

I'm just wondering if that's only possible on PC with the Blackberry Desktop Manager software...

You could also try programs such as SugarSync or even Google Sync as well.

I use pocketmac for sync of contacts, calender, that its good for. Its not great for adding apps and you couldn't say restore your device. For day to day its fine

I had the same problem with my MacBook. Best solution: install Bootcamp and XP if possible. Only way I found around it.

Write to bbsuggestions@rim.com and ask that they create a native mac version of Desktop Manager.

Seconding Bat. That's exactly what I have done with my Macbook Air. Unfortunately' there's no DM for MacOS X, LEOPARD OR WHATEVER
