    Well then...
At this point I would suggest you uninstall 4.3 and try Desktop Manager 4.2 and see if you get a different result. (If you dont care about Roxio at this time DL sp1 for a much faster DL and install). If you can get it working in 4.2 you might want to upgrde to 4.3 WITHOUT removing the older version.

Let us know if you need any help with this and please keep us informed of any progress.

Ok, looks like it is an issue with DM not liking Outlook using Hotmail via Outlook Connector. I made another Outlook account and could use that Address Book to sync up fine. I think it is the fact that DM needs a file to sync to, and Outlook via Hotmail is on the net.

    Thanks for the help.

Interesting...Ok - we will file that one away for future use, however that does not explain why you cannot set up a sync for your calendar, address books, etc.????

I think it is because DM is looking for a file to sync up with (i.e. when you create an outlook account it creates a .pst file) since I am using Outlook Connector via Outlook to run my Hotmail, which is web based, there is no such file.

That is my guess at least?

Re: Error syncing address book with Outlook 2007

I am afraid the problem of brokenbricks has nothing to do with Hotmail, as I have same problem since upgrading to 4.3 (using Office 2007). Before upgrading dm 4.2 was working fine with same settings.

I have several data files, but as default is only the Personal Folder chosen, so all my calendar etc. files are there, it should be clear for DM where to connect & synch with.
Anyhow, I also believe, that the problem is, that for some funny reason it wants to synch with an imap folder of mine, but I am not sure.

When I go to set Advanced settings of let's say Calendar, I get error msg: Folder is no longer part of the system data source or folder could not be found
After clicking OK, I can go to map folder & choose the calendar folder of the "Personal Folder" file. But when I push OK, I get the error: The operation terminated unexpectedly. After that actually the program is even frozen & I cannot even close the window of "Advanced"...

Lightbulb "folder is no longer part of the system data source" - SOLUTION

Ran into this error for a user who had DM 4.2 and was using MSN within Outlook. User had a local .pst associated with the Outlook account, and was manually copying data into those folders for the Blackberry to synchronize with. After adjusting a few account settings everything stopped working.

The user uninstalled 4.2 and upgraded to 4.3, but still no dice. The issue was that 4.3 wanted to see Outlook's mail delivery location set to the Outlook account, not the online msn account. (Outlook - Tools - Account Settings - Mail Delivery location)

We changed the mail delivery settings and applied them (leaving Outlook open), ran DM and set all of the synchronization settings and ran sync. After that completed we went back into Outlook and set the delivery path back. This prevented Outlook from messing with the calendars and folders as it warns with the first change.

    Synchronization kept working after that.

    Hi guys:

I am having that exact same problem. I am getting my email perfectly, but when I try to config for calendar synch, I get that same error message about "Folder is no longer part of the system data source or folder could not be found"

I've been at this for three solid days. Can you please explain the fix?

    thanks,

    Chesapeake

    Hi.

Our company runs with a mail connector.
The problem is, I have no local .pst. I can create one, then the synchronization works. However, I want all the info from my connector calendar to go to my device...

Once I change the mail location to local, the setup works. However, as I mentioned, it points to the now-local, just-created .pst. How can I get the information from my Outlook to the Blackberry?

Sorry if I'm being obtuse - but I'm not sure how to do it without a local .pst.

    Thanks;
    B.

Check your Folder Mapping settings and make sure it is pointed at the correct folders that you use for Outlook for each application you want to sync.(you can map multiple folders if needed)
wow that was the problem...thank you...it was mapping itself to my school outlook instead of my personal folder
