Re: DM shows 8700 connected; Media Manager says "There is no device connected"

Media Manager was designed for devices that use OS 4.2 and above. The 8700 launched and up until recently (without modifying files :P) was using the 4.1 OS. If you upgrade to the 4.2 OS you should be able to see it but the only reason I can think of to do that on an 8700 is for ringtones and backgrounds since there still will be no true media player in the unit or enough memory to actually load very many full songs.

Not with the original OS. It will work if it has 4.2 installed.

Re: DM shows 8700 connected; Media Manager says "There is no device connected"

    I am using an 8700g:
    v4.1.0.258 (Platform 2.0.0.111)
    Cryptographic kernel v3.8.3.7

    I downloaded Desktop Manager 4.1 SP1
But it seems whenever I connect it to the PC (thru USB) it says "cannot detect device"

Have I downloaded the correct software?

By the way, Im using XP Office SP2

    Please help!

Have you tried this, Open Desktop Manager, Open the Options Menu and Connection Setting and Set USB then Click Detect?
