    Keep away from reg clean. They don't take care of the problem. All they want you to do is buy the full version and I was told it is not that hot.
    Surprised the C++ update didn't at least help.
    My so called hi tech method seems to work. We did it on a computer today for another problem not related to BB. Still same type of problem with real player which the repair didn't work for.

    Sorry, Raven, the REGEDIT route di9d not work either :0(

    All the components of the DM are working with the exception of the MEDIA MANAGER. I still get the Roxio run time error every time.

    Any other ideas?

    Interesting let me look into other things.
    Have you tried the putting you rescue disc in and re installing system files. It is windows XP and not Vista we are talking about.

    Also is it the exact same error your getting? Is it the 4.3 multi language or English only one your installing?

    Continuing ...... the C++ 2008 upgrade did not work. I Googled the problem and it appears that it is pretty prevalent. I downloaded RegCure (cos it looked semi-official ?) but this seems to have problems locating the problem ....... Looks like I will have to resort to Raven's "Hi-Tech" solution.
    I Hope you backed up prior to installing RegCure, that program is a hoax. i have NEVER seen that thing work.

    Raven. It is DM 4.2.2 I am installing ...... also it is XP Pro .......

    The message I get pops up immediately after the small Roxio window. It says:-

    Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
    Runtime Error
    Program: C:\Program Files\roxio\Media Manager 9\Mediamanager9.exe
    abnormal program termination

    I only got the "R6025 error Pure virtual function call" one time in the past week of trying this.

    .... and it looks like you are all correct about that Registry Cleaner thing.

    I would recomend not using the media manager it doesn't work well at all. I just plug my card into my computer and manually drag and drop files. I find there are less errors this way.
