My desktop redirector stops delivering messages after a couple of hours. It is version 4.2 Service Pack 1. I am using a Pearl.
The statistics show pending messages. What seems strange is that it shows the last contact w the device to have been over a day ago even though I did recv messages less than 3 hours ago.
No - the delivery is very inconsistent.
This is a very Problematic system, there 4 conditions that must be met,
1.) Computer must be running
2.) Redirector Must be running
3.) Mail Program Must be running
4.) Computer must be connected to the internet.
If you mail program or server that supports forwarding you can forward to a free Blackberry address, Or if you have POP3 Access you can set it up that way and by pass the rediertor all together which is what ia recomend

I really don't recommend using Redirector or Mail Connector unless there are absolutely no other options (extremely rare).
I have used this system for approx 3 years. It has worked extremly well - until last week. My computer is always on and conencted to both the mail server and the internet. I am not sure why you say the mail program needs to be running - it had worked fine w/o the mail client running always prior. Anyway short of telling why this is a bad solution - do you have any ideas of wha might have caused my problem to appear in the last week. I have made no changes on this PC at all.
