Question Desktop Manager won't startup ?!?

    Greetings,

What a great site this is! Lots of good tips!

I have an issue perhaps someone has seen before and can help me with.

I have a 7100g (Cingular) and have been trying to connect it to my XP SP2 system via Desktop Manager. However, evertime I go to open Desktop Manager it comes up for about 1sec, then disappears!?!

I've tried 4.1 and 4.2 but experience exactly the same problem. Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance!

    Michael

    Hi aa9zt,

Any chance this is a work pc where you would not have access rights to install or use that program from your profile?

    Welcome to Pinstack.

I don't believe it to be a permissions issue since the app appears to startup.

I have exactly the same issue and it is driving me nuts. This usually happens after I remove another application. I aslo cannot perform a clean removal because I cannot remobe the "odstrace.xml" files. I have tried 4.0, 4.1 and 4.2. I had it working for a while but it has happened again.

There must be a fix but I have yet to find it.

Did a clean uninstall of the desktop manager as noted elsewhere in the fourms, windows update, installed 4.2.. same issue. I also tried using Desktop Manager after booting my system in safe mode; same issue.

Is it possible there is a setting on my bb it doens't like?

    I did the same except I can't remove obstrace.xml. I have tried versions 4.0, 4.1 and 4.2

Why can;t Blackberry find a solution?
