Desktop manager new & confused
Where can step by step instructions be found on using desktop manager? Specifically how to load from computer to bberry schedules/notes/to do lists/ simple things like kids basketball schedules etc. I am very confused.
are you using outlook to keep your schedule?
if so, open DM and click the sync tab. inside there are settings to sync bb to PC.
if you need more help, post back here.
What is outlook? When I link phone to computer and start DM it tells me to activate mass storage. When I did this all my saved pages using Opera Mini ceased to function. Is that common or can it be avoided? Are the Blackberry books I have seen for sale very helpful, (like the for dummies series) or should I stick here? Thanks!
Doesn't hurt to absorb info from a number of sources, including the texts you've mentioned, and particularly Pinstack, which is a site who's primary focus is education and support!
If you have a Microsoft OS on your pc, then you have Outlook, which has contact calendar, schedules, etc., information that can be synced with your handheld. Outlook can be found by Start, Programs. Then set it up. Enter your address book and calendar info and it will continue to be there whether at home or on the go.
Connecting via mass storage mode shouldn't clear your Opera cache.
Most pre-vista computers come with Outlook Express which does not have the calendar or tasks, but can sync your contacts. If you purchased a version of Microsoft Office that includes the full version of Outlook then you can sync your tasks, calendar, etc.
If you have a computer running Vista, then it has Microsoft Mail instead of OE which does not sync with the Desktop Manager(at least I haven't figured it out yet, just got my 1st vista computer ).
Please see below.
