I Dl'd 4.7 last week and just got around to oening it up. I was trying to move some ringtones over that I made and tried to open Media Manager. I couldn't get it to do anything and now I can't close it. I even went into Task Manager to end task and it won't. Looks like I'll be deleting it and going back to 4.6.

Make sure you uninstall any older version of DM on your computer. Go into Control Panel and do it there. I did a search on my computer and came up empty but when I went into the Control Panel there was software there. Try this and see if it helps. ~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~ |

Are there any old versions of the operating system? Delete anything Blackberry that you can find and reboot. Then try again. I have to think there is somerthing BB on there that is stopping the install. ~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~ |

Don't recall for sure, but I believe this is an updated release of 4.7, hopefully fixing some of the annoyances we were experiencing with the initial release: Desktop Manager 4.7.0 B50 English - Without Media Manager

4.2 syncs with ACT just fine, but 4.7 does not even recognize ACT. There is no intellisync button that I could find. Any thoughts? DB |

Downloads from RIM's site are kinda slow, but we don't permit links to file sharing sites like rapid share for RIM's software, only links from their official site.

I just installed Device Manager 4.7.0 B50 without any problems. After install I noticed the autoupdate function had been installed: c:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Auto Update\RIMAutoUpdate.exe I didn't have the option to disable this feature during install. When I did the Desktop Manager 4.7 install on another machine, I had the option to chose to disable the auto-update feature. I maintain a corporate environment which we do NOT use s/w auto updates for any software. Is there any way to disable the auto-update function when installing Device Manager on its own? Thanks in advance. |
