And when I try to get to the download link page from the Blackberry Desktop Software page, the page that loads doesn't have a link on it.

Does anyone else have this problem?

I was receiving an error on the top of the screen in red writing, don't remember what it said. However, the pages loaded fine other wise and I was able to download the program after a few stalls.

Arrow Re: Desktop Manager 4.2 SP2 released today

This took over 15 minutes to install on my computer. After installing I was forced to reboot, when the computer started up it was a few minutes before I could do anything. I was frozen, but working in the background. I am not a fan of Roxio, vowed never to install it on my computer ever again, but since RIM says it’s OK, I will give it a shot, just to see what's up.

Finally it's up and running, but Roxio wants me to agree to sometime of legal document, the infamous EULA. After accepting it takes its time opening, but the software looks like a million bucks.

When I tried to move a picture into it asked to convert it. Most likely this will resize the picture, but I already done that before using Roxio's Media Manager. I have a Celeron 1.8 GHz, with a GB of RAM, old trashy computer, and this MM is running slow.

I tried to move and convert an avi movie that is 3MB, but I got an error message. Without conversion the movie was moved without hassle. I was also able to upload an mp3 without hassle, hopefully this will replace my iPod at work, but it all depends on if the battery can handle it.

When I tried to play the avi on the berry, I got an error. The mp3 played without a doubt. Sounds really good, Aretha screams were a little too much for the OEM speakerphone, but with the OEM Headset, sounded just as good as the iPod. I listened to the entire call, hopefully it will pause when the phone rings, but not when I get a text, email, or message from one of the instant messengers.

The files in the ringtone folder played OK, and the wallpapers and photos of friends and family showed a thumbnail, the time to display was fairly quick. Other than that I will figure out how to get video to play on the 8800 and find out how to crack those hidden themes wide open.

    Until then...

    nice post da thunder
I was able to install 4.2SP2 (by using winrar)
and i still cannot install ROXIO even manually.
trying to install it by itself it still freezes at the progress bar.
I'll stick to my tried and true methods of converting

Re: Desktop Manager 4.2 SP2 released today

so i thought i was in the clear without having to install roxio.
Nope, upon loading the new desktop manager, i noticed there is
no media icon. So did RIM give all the media transfer tasks to ROXIO?

This sucks. I guess ill just downgrade back to 4.2 SP 1
I am so friggin mad right now.

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~ roxio did stall out for about 10 min or so while installing but I just let it run its course and it eventually installed just fine.

I am getting DAO.msi missing and Roxio won't start. Tried twice. Quick google search and found the fix here: http://forums.support.roxio.com/inde...showtopic=2334 All seems happy now.

Re: Desktop Manager 4.2 SP2 released today

mines just stuck on the gathering info status bar . if i go thru the desktop manager install it stops halfway in the gather bar. If try to install roxio by itself, it shows the status bar but no movement at all.

I went to roxio's site and troubleshooted on the site. The site robot suggested i download Directx10 which i did.

I guess i'll let the status bar just chill out for a while. Is it searching for media or what i wonder.
    Or maybe its just frozen

Re: Desktop Manager 4.2 SP2 released today

    i'm running XP.
    I already downloaded the update.
I unzipped the update using winrar.
I have already installed desktop manager 4.2.2.
I cannot install Roxio media manager.

I'm thinking maybe its my system or something.
I even checked desertblade's link about his error, tried thatm, no luck

    I'm stumped

I may just have to downgrade back to the standard 4.2.
I'd rather do that than troubleshoot for 8 hours...lol
