Can the DM be used for multiple devices, ie, mine and my wife's? We will both be on BES.

I have the 8700 and she has the 8100 inbound arriving tomorrow.

    mikel12323, Welcome to PinStack.

I'm not really sure about this. You might want to set up two separate accounts on your PC, one for you and one for your wife.

I have DM 4.2 and can use it for my wife and my bberry. It uses the device's PIN to distinguish it.

I do connect them one at a time...and am not sure if you can simultaneously manage them thru different ports.

    Hope this helps.

    Eagle_R, Welcome to PinStack.

Thanks for the information. Does DM 4.2 differentiate between different sync settings and save them based on the device connected? Or are you syncing to the same items?

    Thanks for your help.

    Thanks for the welcome.

I haven't tried to sync yet. I maintained my contact list in the SIM card and just copied it over to the bberry. Since I was excited to play around with the Pearl, I just manually updated/formatted it into the Pearl....also, to get use to the keyboard.

Thanks, Yes it will detect the two different BB Devices, but the question is can DM be used to sync two different BBs, not whether it detect the two.

    Welcome to Pinstack!
The Desktop Manager can be used for mutiple BB devices but you should use seperate PC Desktop Profile Accounts to keep from causing a problem with the syncronization of information. If you try to use the same Desktop Profiles you will be prompted about using a different PIN to sync and have to recreate encryption key as well as entire new sync like a new account.

    Re: Desktop Manager 4.2 - Multiple BB's?

Hi. New here today with similiar situation.

Using Vista Ultimate. My wife and I have seperate used accounts. We each have a BB. I've been trying to install DM V4.3 so we can both sync. I've tried installing twice like this:
c:\program files\ME\Blackberry... (selected "this user only")
c:\program files\HER\Blackberry... (wasn't given the option for "this user only")
This didn't work so well for the second account installed.

I tried installing as "shared", but seemed to have issues too. Can't rember what, I've been hacking away at this for several hours now

Any suggestions to get this to work for two users and 2 BB, both needing to sync?

    Mike

    Hi,

I'd like to renew this question. My wife and I both use the internet connection. Usually we sync on 2 different PCs (both to Outlook) but when we're away-- like now-- we share a laptop. Right now it's just set up for me. We each want to sync to the Outlook on the laptop-- but not to each other's calendar or contacts.

Can we set up different "accounts" in Outlook and then have the DM recognize that my BB syncs to my account and her's to her's?

Sorry but I'm really clueless on this. Thnaks

    Rick
