Ok after reading this I think I need help. My old laptop crashed yesterday and I had to buy a new machine and it has Vista on it. After downloading DM I try to install and get

" c:\users\ownwer\desktop\desktop software v4.2 SP2 (english).exe is not a valid Win32 application"


Is the the same Vista problem others were getting? I have tried "running as admind"...

Any help please?

Hey, I have a bb 8100, and ive downloaded the deskto manager to my laptop with no problem at all, but when I try to install it, when i double-click on the icon to install it, another window appears saying something like: Blackberry Desktop Software v4[1].2 Service Pack 1 (English).exe is not a valid Win32 application.
I was able to install the device manager separately from the blackberry web page: blackberry.com and that one works fine, but i need the desktop software to use my bb to its fullest.

Ive tried this with desktop software service pack 1 and 2, but none of them work. Can someone tell me what to do to solve this problem.

Just got a 8320 and loaded the DM from the CD and the Application Loader says the device is not supported but the media manager works. What am I doing wrong as I cannot load any themes? Thanks in advance..

hey i dont have the origional cd and i need some help in gettin the pearl to connect and the programs you give me wont work and here is why

and it says
1:failed to install ISKernel Files
make shure you have appropriate privilages on this machine

I had the Desktop manager installed on my computer when i had a pearl it all seemed to work fine.. But i went out and got a curve now when i go to application upload it says " The blackberry desktop software does not have blackberry device software for the device that you have connected to the computer. Contact your wireless service provider or system admin" can someone tell me where i went wrong, im sure its a no brainer i just cant seem to figure it out? do i need a patch or to DL a whole different desktop manager?

You just need to download and install the Handheld Software package file for you Curve to your PC. Be sure to install the file after you download it.

how do i fix my bb? The screen turns white and says to reset it...i've done it a million times already and nothing happens..JVM error 513.

Sounds like you will need to reload your OS. If you update your profile with device/carrier info we would be better able to assist you.

hey guys im new here too. i have a blackberry pearl but did not get an installation cd with it... i tried downloading the desktop software from the blackberry website

for the 4.3 version - the installation could not be completed
then i tried the 4.2 version and it installed, but when i click the application to open the program, nothing happens... anyone have any ideas ?

I recently purchased a Pearl (not from a sevice provider) and it did not come with desktop software so I first downloaded DM 4.3. This worked fine, allowed me to sync all my contacts, but then I realized this version didn't have Media Manager, so I uninstalled it, and installed v4.2 sp2. The media manager works great but now it won't let me sync my contacts, it only triggers an error message saying: Internal Error (see logs). I am running Vista, but don't know if that matters... Please Help!
