Does that include the Media Manager? I've upgraded my desktop software to 4.2, and all the basics like synch, etc., work fine, but the Roxio app says that there's no device connected.

Is that just a futile hope?

Bob, if you notice, that post is a couple of months old and the DM SP2 is only a couple of days old. And you must have an version 4.2 OS installed on your 8700 for any of the media manager functions to work. I am only now downloading SP2 and am using a pearl so really won't be able to tell you what limitations this DM will impose on an 8700.

Thanks so much for the feedback. Is there a way to install a more current version of the OS onto the handset? I've got T-Mobile, and while the carrier site offers v4.2 of the DM when I log in, it only offers 4.1.0.436 for the handset (which I've already got).

I'm using BES with work and BIS for personal email. If I have no intention of using Blackberry Desktop Redirector, why does installing the Desktop Manager with BES selected install an "Email Options" icon and try to connect to my work's Lotus Notes server? Is this the icon/setup for Desktop Redirector or for something else of value? i.e. If I'm using BES do these Email Options DO anything? Thanks!

I'm using 4.2.1.6 Desktop Manager on my 8800. Is there anyway to sync third party software so I don't lose all of the data in my Mobiteq Reminder program every time I reset the unit?

i checked my currently installed desktop manager and it says version 4.2.1.6. i've checked the BB website and it just says the latest version is 4.2 sp2. is this the same as what i have?

I tried all other manner of Vista tricks (turning off UAC, running as XP SP2, running as Administrator). Even my geekiest friends were stumped (and I have some really geeky friends).
