    Desktop Manager 4.1 Problems

I purchased my 7130e new a couple of weeks ago and I love it, the only problem I am having is with the desktop software. When I install it it works fine the first couple of times and then will not recognize that the BB is connected(via usb). When I go to reboot the computer (dell latitude d520)hoping that will help, the computer gets hung up on a blue screen during reboot and I have to end up popping the battery to get the computer restarted. I have uninstalled and re-installed the software many times and get the same problem every time. I have even followed the instructions on deleting the registry that are on this site.

I have succesfully installed the software on my home computer with out any problems. That leads me to believe the problem is my computer and not the BB. Hopefully someone can help.

Thanks in advance and this site rocks!

Hi prollo6 and a big welcome to PinStack. The DS works in mysterious ways. Sometimes it comes on to the irritating exclusion of everything else and other times it doesn't respond at all after your PC is turned on. If there isn't an immediate response from the software just click on the desktop icon and that should do it.If noit, rteload the DS and if you still have a problem come back to the forum.

    prollo6, Welcome to PinStack.

I really think it has to do with the Latitude. What OS is running on it? Have you tried different USB ports on the Latitude? Let us know if there is anything else we can do to help with your BB.

I am pretty sure it is the latitude as well, event though it handles everything else just fine.

It is running XP and I have tried other USB ports.

Hello prollo6, welcome to pinstack. I would have suggested different usb ports as well.

I re-installed, tried a different port and have the same issues. it works once and then won't connect again. i know it is not the BB. it has to be a conflict on my latitude. does anyone know of any software or hardware conflicts with 4.1?

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~I deleted 4.1 and installed 4.2 and it works great!
