    Desktop 4.6 Problem

    I currently have the devide software 4.5.0.52. I downloaded the lastest 4.5.0.55 along with the Desktop program from BB 4.6. However, when i try to update it says using the loader application it says there are no software for the connected device.

    Did you download your updated OS from another vendor other than the provider your phone was intended for? If that is the case, then you need to delete the vendor.xml file from your Common Apps folder, voila, BBDM will suddenly recognize that you have software available to update.

    i haven't heard of many problems with 4.6. i had some issues with 4.5

    Uninstall the 4.5.0.52 OS from your computer, make sure the 4.5.0.55 is there and then delete the vendor.xml file from:

    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research in Motion\AppLoader

    Connect your device to the PC, launch the Desktop Manager and let us know what happens from there!

    Thanks for al suggestions. I everything including the vendor file and nothing.
    Order:
    Update and DM installed(lastest)
    No vendor File
    then No update even tho there is.

    Are you sure you deleted the correct 4.5 from your PC? Go ahead and delete the one that remains on your PC, download and install the .55 version again, delete the vendor.xml file and try again.

    I figured what i was doing wrong. Since the ATT site said my phone was the 8110, i downloaded the software for that device. Wondering about i downloaded the 8100 and it worked
