    I've read several threads, but I cannot seem to solve my problem.

    I just recently bought a Blackberry Pearl from T-Mobile. Their recent software version is 4.2.1.17b. I want to upgrade, but first I have to figure out why my Blackberry is not being detected by the Desktop Manager. I installed the software; when I plug in my Blackberry it shows that it's charging and a little icon pops up at the bottom of my computer screen telling me that my Blackberry has been detected. Yet, when I try to connect it to the desktop manager it says "Device Not Found". My USB port seems to be working fine since my computer detects the Blackberry (as well as everything else: camera, iPod, etc.).

    My computer is Windows XP, by the way.

    What is the problem?! Any suggestions?

    -Try uninstalling your DM and re-installing again.
    -try repairing the program with the disk
    -check TMo site to make sure your version of DM is the latest version (open DM and click on help)

    If the above mentioned don't work, someone will be by shortly to help.

    I've tried all of that several times. And that version id the latest version...

    hmm, i had the same problem as genna did. only my connection problems started after i upgraded my phone because some applications were deleted earlier when i was getting rid of all the extra languages and such.

    i'll try what jgirly2 suggested and see what happens.

    Hmmm... I added a microSD card, so when I plug it in, it accesses the card on Windows. Removable Disk F, but it still cannot connect to DM...

    Try this

    Connect your BB to your PC, open Desktop Manager then on the menu bar click options the connection settings. Select USB in the pull down box and click on detect. What happens?

    It says "Device Not Found". Like it always does.
