Cannot install DTM on XP Home PC

[FONT='Calibri','sans-serif']I am trying to install DTM 4.2.2 sp2 on my wife's PC from the supplied disk and, given that this failed, a RIM download.
I am using 4.2.2 because 4.3 is not comptable with Outlook 2000.
The PC has had previous copies of DTM installed an then removed via "Add/Remove" with no difficulty.
Towards the end of the install process I receive error messages concerning a "corrupt cab" and a "2350.fdi server error" - this occurs with both the disk and the web installs.
    Can anyone help, please?
    Many thanks.

First, do a full uninstall of Desktop Manager as described here:
    http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/searc...00%20137504105

Now, download Desktop Manager 4.2 SP2 without Media Manager from here:
    https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads...0530C5ED10B15A

The file you download [Desktop Software v4.2 SP2 without Media Manager (English).exe] is a self extracting Zip file. Use WinZip or some other zip utility to unzip it to an permanent empty directory, then run BBSetup.exe to perform the installation.

Thank you for this advice. Do I have to exclude the Media Manager - my wife would find it very useful to have this service included?
