My BB and my desktop both have bluetooth (via a USB dongle), but I've never bothered to set up BT sync; I run a Dell Axim as my main PIM, so it's less critical for me to sync regularly. I just let it sync once a week or so, when I plug it in to charge.

    Re: Bluetooth sync?

    Hmm, the poll is missing:

    No, I have BES.

I've set up and tried out bluetooth sync but it's just nowhere near as convenient as BES wireless sync.

Do you have Desktop Manager installed? You'll need to start there. I recommend getting USB sync working first before attempting to tackle bluetooth.

Then replace the driver with the Microsoft driver.

    Re: Bluetooth sync?

I sync via Bluetooth with two PC's using BlackBerry Desktop. In both cases, I'm using external <$20 dongles. The work laptop is an ancient DLink, the home desktop is some no-name brand. Both work great. I did have to install Microsoft's bluetooth stack on one of my machines to get it to work (cant remember which). Found a great howto after googling a bit (can't find it right now).

Hey, what can ou tell me about speed when transferring files?
Application Loader is disabled when syncing via BT, so can't vouch for file transfer speed. I will say that my syncs take under 60 seconds and I've got 188 contacts and ~550 calender events.

What I like best is that when I get in range, it prompts me whether I want to sync or not - Dont even have to take it out of my pocket. If I could figure out how to avoid the prompt and just sync, I'd be even happier.

Question Sync my BB to my BT car stereo

I own a Pioneer 790 BT, which supports BT, voice transferring, it works, however one of the features will allow me to transfer my phonebook to the stereo head unit, it lets me go to the point of hiiting the transfer key but when I do it the BT disconnects from the BB, can anybody tell me what is going on?
