Hi focuztorch, welcome to pinstack.com. It is not necessary to start a thread in different forums because we have a "new posts" option that we use to see all the newest posts. Dont worry, someone will be able to help you with just 1 thread started. I am not too sure about the bookmarks being retrieved, but I do know you can back-up everything else using desktop manager. Most of the apps that are needed for a BB are found right here on this site, under the downloads section. As far as your contacts, datebook, memos and tasks, you can sync them using your desktop manager so you can load them to your new BB. In desktop manager there is a backup/restore option. I usually just sync all my important things to Outlook, I dont mess too much with backup/restore, and to do this all you need to do is choose configure pim and choose which things you want to sync, and to where you want to sync them. If you need further help please ask, and good luck.

I have not seen a way to backup/restore bookmarks so you will need to find them and add them again when you get the new device. You can backup/restore applications. The OS version does not matter when you backup/restore. It will walk you through the backup process when you click on Backup in Desktop Manager. The same applies to restore. Hope this helps.

When you do a backup and restore, it does do bookmarks. Just make sure you check your options when you do the backup!
