Do you get prompted to grant permission to access every time you run the application like I do? Just wondering if it really is just me and aome weird setting somewhere?

Sounds like your Firewall is causing a ruckus.

Go to Options > Security Settings > Firewall > Menu Key left of trackball > Edit Default Permissions.

You could also check the default permissions of the application itself in
Options > Advanced Options > Applications > find SkySearch and change the default permissions that way as well

Firewall isn't even on and app has all connection settings set to allow.

Well, if I turn on the firewall, then I get the option to always allow and stop the app from asking every time it opens. But if the firewall is on then I have other apps that don't work properly.......so I guess if I want to use sky search, I have to deal with granting permission every time it's used. At least I found a solution of sorts.~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~

App locked up twice on me. Had to do battery-pull. Tried again, same results...had to delete app. Running on 8130 w/4.3 kool while it lasted.

    All,

Thanks for trying out the alpha. We're working on the battery-pull problem, but it's somewhat difficult to repeatedly cause the freeze. If anyone encounters the problem and can drop us a line, we'd be grateful.

Out of curiosity, would people like to wait for stable betas, or is previewing the alpha worth the occasional glitch?

We're going to be adding about an application per week to SkyWorld; some just-for-fun ones like 8-ball, other useful ones like Wikipedia search, webcam viewers, and a public-domain book reader. We thought that the pinstack community would prefer early access. If the sentiment is to wait for stable products, we can do that too...
