I spoke to my Business Rep about 30 minutes ago and she said nothing will change until the end of the year. The company's will remain separate until January 2009 but will prepare to merge between now & then.

Hey for us Verizon customers this could be what we've been waiting for. Maybe the + side of this is they finally unlock GPS and bluetooth to make everyone happy and not lose any of the Alltel customers they'll be gaining. Think + not -

So that pretty much means T-Mobile is the smallest major U.S. carrier as of January 2009. Possibly could pressure Deutshe Telekom even further into the whole Sprint/T-Mobile USA merger that I fear so much, to compete.

However, I read that Alltel had GSM coverage in some areas, so maybe Verizon will have to sell that off (hoping to T-Mobile). Don't know how true that is...

Hopefully Alltel customers don't mind the merger too much and don't lose a whole lot.
    Hi. :D

Always gotta try to think on the bright side and not so much on the negative side. But the thing is what are the chances of this happening. Right?

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~I can't start a new thread from my bb so I just wanted to share with everyone the "rumor" I heard about another carrier, this is from a very reliable source, that is also looking to buy out another. I was told that T-mobile is in talks with Sprint. That should be interesting.

Would this merger nullify our contracts with Alltel? I've had problems with the company since day one and would thoroughly enjoy this.
