Two Causes of Blackberry Handheld OS Memory Leaks

Here are two of the common causes of Blackberry memory leaks

    1. The Application Switcher on the BlackBerry smartphone is setting itself as a system listener and is not being removed.
    2. Switching between two applications on the BlackBerry smartphone using ALT+ESC approximately 25 times will cause a memory leak. From this point on, switching applications on the BlackBerry smartphone will cause an hourglass to appear for an extended period of time, which causes a large decrease in memory on the BlackBerry smartphone.
RIM is aware of this OS issue is currently working to resolve it.

This is interesting. I couldn't find the article that pin pointed this but I wanted to find out if certain OS's more prone to this then others.

What an unbelievable coincidence!! I just came here to see if there was any discussion regarding "memory leaks".
Any idea on ways we can avoid this in the interim?

The only way I know to avoid bad memory leaks is to keep unused apps closed, keeping the browser cashe and logs empty and also doing a battery pull every night before I go to sleep so my BB is fresh for the next day. Such a routine though

Don't know about getting rid of the switching app. I think that would really mess things up. How would you be able to multitask.
